Online meeting in Greece

10 July 2021

The Institute of Psychosocial Development (I.Ψ.A.), Greek Psych Up partner, held an online webinar about Psych Up on July 9th. More than 20 psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Psychiatrists, Adult Educators/VET Trainers, Special Educators, Social Workers, Guidance Counselors, University Students, University PhD Professors, University Professors came together to learn more about the project. Most of the event participants were already involved in earlier phases of the project and actively collaborated on the results, e.g. filling the questionnaires, taking an interview or an on-site visit, participating in the focus groups, …

In the first part of the event, an overview of the project was presented, with its objectives and its results. In the second part of the event, the three Intellectual Outputs were presented and analysed. The event later concluded an open discussion with the participants. They had the opportunity to share their opinions about the development of the profile of the Psych Up Referent and brainstorm about how they could adapt the training frame for their VET centers.

The participants (specifically the VET educators) highlighted that the need of the existence of a person who welcomes and supports their learners with psychological issues is extremely important for the reduction of their daily workload. They are not the only individuals who would like assistance on the better care of the learners; they noticed that the development of this job profile would be an asset in the daily routine of the caregivers of the learners. Finally, the participants expressed they were interested by the IO3 resources in order to use it like a tool with their colleagues. Participants congratulated partners about the collection of the resources and hope they will use them like additional education material in their training courses or in their staff meetings.
